If a member of the college community has reason to believe that a student who resides in on-campus housing is missing, he/she should immediately notify the TSTC Police Department. TSTC Police will generate a Missing Person Report and initiate an investigation.
Should TSTC Police determine that the student has been missing for more than 24 hours, they will notify the student's emergency contact or a confidentially identified individual.
In addition to registering an emergency contact, students in on-campus housing have the option to identify, confidentially, an individual to be contacted by TSTC in the event the student is determined to be missing for more than 24 hours.
If a student is less than 18-years-old and is not an emancipated individual, federal law requires that TSTC notify a parent or guardian within 24 hours of that a student is confirmed missing.
