During the last 48 hours, the community leaders in Waco, Harlingen, Hutto, and Breckenridge issued “shelter-in-place” orders. These new orders mean that about three-quarters of our TSTC students and employees are now covered by such directives. Now, it’s clear that our decision last week to work remotely at TSTC has proven to be prudent and well-timed.
With cases still growing in Texas, it’s now increasingly more likely that other communities in which we have campuses will take similar steps in the near future. Complying with such orders is an indispensable part of fighting COVID-19 in Texas.
Regardless of whether your community has reached this phase or not, now is the time for each of us to do our part to protect our families, our coworkers, and our neighbors by following the health advice of the experts and the civil directives of our community leaders.

The health and well-being of the TSTC community is our highest priority. With the arrival of the coronavirus (COVID-19) in the United States, and more specifically in Texas, rest assured that we are continuously monitoring the situation and receiving updates from health officials daily. We are committed to keeping you informed as the situation evolves by providing updates via emails and on the TSTC Portal for students and employees.
The best action you can take at this time is to follow the recommendations of public health officials and wash your hands regularly, avoid close contact with people who are sick and take other preventative measures.
